Volkswagen Taigun, a new fighter in Hot Compact SUV battle !!

Ethicaly, Sports Utility Vehicle aka SUV were the cars specially made for Off-Roading Stuff & not for city driving due to lack of fuel efficiency these vehicles used to offer. But now this SUV Segment is very much diversified with many sub-categories discovered under it. Compact SUV is one these innovations, which are basically made for city driving conditions with less of bulk as well as smaller engines & increased fuel efficiency

Talking about India, this trend started with Renault Duster followed by the forthcoming Ford EcoSport & inplan Chevrolet Trax, Maruti Suzuki XA-Alpha & Volkswagen Taigun.
VW Taigun is a 5 seater SUV measuring, a length of 3.86 mtrs. & a width of 1.86 mtrs. May be the plans of VW UP coming to India postponed but this UP based SUV will be launched in India by the end of 2013 or in early 2014 as confirmed by Volkswagen's senior official Ulrich Hackenberg.

Exterior of Taigun is very much like it's own elder brother Touraeg. Wearing 17 inches 205/50 R17 tyres with a great ground clearence makes it a full SUV package. Boot space of 280 Ltrs. increasing to 987 Ltrs. when the rear seats are folded down. Talking about the inside, car's cockpit gives you a true futuristic feel & for sure a real eye catcher.

Internationaly, Taigun is powered by the much talked about EA211 series - turbocharged 1 Ltr. petrol engine which produces a great 110 PS of max. power & 175 Nm of max. torque plus a fuel efficiency of 21 Kmpl. But anaylising the increasing diesel car trend in India, it is expected to launch with same VW Polo 1.2 Ltrs. diesel unit.

Eager to buy this car ?? Then wait till 2014 when it will officialy launch in India. As if now it looks like a great package which will give a tough time to Renault Duster & Ford EcoSport.

Hyundai Next Gen. i10 Diesel caught testing on Indian roads !!

Korean Auto-Player, Hyundai is all set to launch the next gen. i10 in the first quarter of 2013. This next gen. i10 will also offer a diesel mill along with the petrol varient. With the acute price hikes of petrol in the last few months, Indian Auto-Market had experienced a severe dip in the sales of petrol cars & on the other hand a mouthwaterig rise in diesel car sales. Staring with Chevrolet Beat & Ford Figo to the forthcoming Honda Amaze, every car firm is all set to make the best out of this oppurtinity.

 
As the Spy shots confirms, this new i10 is also treated with the same infamous Hyundai's Fludic trend. In exterior modifications, this next gen. Hatch spots a new bumper, new tail lights & back lights with a minor increase in length than the previous version. Talking about the engine specifications, the same 1.2 Ltrs. petrol engine will be continued on the otherhand 1.1 Ltrs. Epsilon engine will be replaced by a much more fuel  efficient 1 Ltr. Kappa engine & the all new 1.1 Ltrs. CRDi diesel mill will be given to diesel varient.

Eager buyers will have to wait for next few months as it will officialy launch in India after the Frankfurt Motor Show. Now comes the most inportant Indian factor i.e pricing, expectidely it will be something  around INR 5 lakhs.

The pricing of Garnd Vitara in UK starts from INR 13.97 Lakhs which we can say is Competetive. In India it will compete with Mahindra XUV 500 & the latest player in this arena Tata Safari Storme.

XA Alpha, Maruti Suzuki's warrior against Duster & Ecosport !!

This Read Beast with the two Beautiful ladies is Maruti Suzuki's XA Alpha Concept. 2013 Skoda Octavia-III Generation will launch in India as New Skoda Laura !!

Czech Car Firm Skoda came out with the first Glimpse of 2013 IIIrd Gen. Skoda Octavia which will also be  the Next Gen. Skoda Laura in India & replace the previous version in mid next year. The first gen. of Octavia was launched in back 1996, IInd gen. in year 2004 & after a long 8 year leap it's refreshed with latest IIIrd gen. This Czesh beauty is based on the infamous Volkswgen's MQB platform which emphasises on modular architecture for cars which we are seeing in Audi A3 & VW Golf.

Talking about the dimensional changes, The car is now taller, wider, spacious as well as lighter than the previous version.
